Technology Associate Program
SIG is a leading financial services firm with trading at the core of its business model. What may not be obvious is that technology is at the core of trading. In fact, we often describe ourselves as a technology firm that happens to trade. Our dynamic trading environment is a perfect fit for our skilled technologists, allowing them to apply their passion for technology and see the immediate impact of their work.
As a recent graduate, you may feel like you don’t know enough about technology, let alone finance. That’s okay. SIG’s Technology Associate Program teaches you the essentials and provides you with a foundation. We look to you to build upon that foundation.
We recognize that life may be hectic right now between class and searching for a job, so here are the basics of the Technology Associate (TA) Program at SIG:
- We hire TAs to work on every layer of our high frequency, low latency trading systems. This includes software development, network engineering, information security, and systems engineering. Not seeing your area of technical expertise or unsure which area is for you? Ask us about it in your interview process.
- Beginning on your first day at SIG, you participate in a six-month program that includes technology and finance classes taught by senior technologists, traders, and in-house subject matter experts; two rotations with different technology teams; a visit to the New York Stock Exchange; and a team project you complete with fellow TAs.
- When you begin the TA program, you may not know where your ultimate placement will be. You’re able to try out a couple of teams so we can find the best fit. By rotating through multiple technology teams, you will make great connections with people across the organization during the program.
- You will learn about the technologies we use at SIG, and how we use them to trade. Even though you aren’t a trader, we want you to understand our business model.
- Upon completion of the TA program, you are placed within a team that best matches your skills and potential, and fills our most crucial business needs.
