Rocking Out with Tech!

During our latest on-site SIG Tech Camp, our SIG kids, ages 6-10, designed and programmed their own electric guitars with littleBits. We host Tech Camps to make it easy for our parents to find educational activities on days when the office is open but schools are closed, like Election Day.

All Treats, No Tricks

It was another great Halloween at SIG as we welcomed our SIG kids in for a visit at both our Bala and Dublin offices. In Dublin, our Family Halloween Party included entertainment from a “mad professor,” alongside face painting, balloon animals, and plenty of treats for kids. In Bala, our lobby was filled with sweet treats before our kids took on some trick-or-treating throughout the building.

Redefining Her Street

We are happy to announce our partnership with Redefine Her Street, a student organization focused on educating women attending liberal arts colleges about careers in finance. The students recently joined us for an afternoon at SIG, which included lectures on how we utilize decision science and probability to think about the options markets, as well as a panel discussion with senior-level women on their personal career path story. We look forward to working with the women over the next year!

Fighting Cancer with Every Step

It was a great morning on the Parkway as 760+ Team SIG members gathered to join thousands of runners and walkers at the Children’s Hospital of Philadelphia Parkway Run. We broke our own personal record as the largest participating team! The race raised over $1.3 million for pediatric cancer research and we felt fortunate to support such a worthwhile cause.

Taking a Walk on the Wild Side

Our annual SIG Family Fun Night brought out over 2,000 employees and family members for an evening exploring the Philadelphia Zoo. We checked out the newest exhibits (otters, penguins, and more!), snacked at our favorite food stands, and even got to enjoy some special attractions, like a Euro-Bungee ride, a life-size Hungry Hippos game, and a DJ and dance floor for the kids.

Screaming for Ice Cream

We like to surprise our employees, and a cold treat on a hot day seemed like the perfect way! In Dublin, as we're experiencing the hottest summer in 40 years, we treated the office to a mid-day ice cream sundae bar. And in our Bala headquarters, we ended the day with Mister Softee trucks for popsicles and soft serve ice cream.

Tiki Time!

We never shy away from a theme party in our Sydney office. Our Mid-Year Party, complete with a tiki theme, was held in King Street Wharf and featured canapes, mocktails + drinks, and tiki touches around every corner. Our employees impressed with their ensembles, as usual!

SIG Knocks it Out of the Ballpark

Our annual Night at the Ballpark is a SIG summer staple! 700+ SIG employees had a great night out at Citizens Bank Park cheering on the Philadelphia Phillies. We were treated to a buffet of our favorite ballpark foods and drinks, plus loaded tickets to pick up any favorites around the stadium. We even got to see our Head of Operations throw out the first pitch!

Riding in Style

Since the official Bike to Work Day was a wash out in our area this year, we welcomed our SIG cyclists to work the following Monday with Bai Waters and Naked juices. We loved seeing SIG’s bike rack packed with lots of happy cyclists!

The Dublin Office Takes Home the Crown

Our annual No Limit Texas Hold’em Poker Tournament kicked off at our offices around the globe this past February. After months of fierce competition, our 18 finalists converged at our Bala HQ. To give our players a chance to get to know each other before the big day, we hosted a welcome dinner at The Logan, filled with delicious food, drinks, and great city views. The next day, players battled it out at the Final Table to see who would take home the $15k grand prize. Congratulations to Kevin, who is bringing home the 1st place title to Dublin for the first time since 2011!
