Susquehanna engineers recently attended CppCon 2026 in Aurora, Colorado, where new C++26 and C++29 features, especially reflection and contracts, dominated the agenda. Here, we break down four of our favorite talks: Bjarne Stroustrup on profiles, a mechanism for enforcing safety guarantees at compile time; Timur Doumler on what comes next for contracts after C++26; Ryan Keane on synthesizing vtables with C++26 reflection; and Intel's Ruslan Arutyunyan and Daniel Towner on std::simd, the standard library's new portable SIMD abstraction. Along the way, we share code samples and explain why these features matter in an industry where every microsecond counts. Our engineers recap their favorite CppCon 2026 talks, covering profiles, contracts, reflection, and std::simd.
